Ralph Cannon is dead. The kidnapped awakened children and teens have been rescued. The Black Spiral Dancers have been defeated. And the cabal successfully returned from the future and saved the world from the threat of the Storm Eater.
Or have they?
GM Notes: In Fear and Loathing, the game picks up on August 27, 2000. The chapter begins with Isis approaching Julian and discussing her findings on the medical checkup on each of the returned abductees. She found that there was something strange in their blood. Julian researches the medical problem and discovers that each of the abductees are seeded with a type of weaver-bane spirit.
Jacob spends some time on the telephone with Cynthia, asking her for help in gaining a job with Buona Fortuna. They both agree to meet up with one another at 9 pm. Po also takes the time to spend time with Graci. He explains about the supernatural awakened world and helps her meditate to control her abilities. Julian contacts Po and Jacob to return Butch Levi and Graci Park back to his headquarters beneath the estate.
Raven shares his findings with the group. Jacob’s research in Wesley’s library is able to turn up that the weaver-bane spirit is known as a debacher, but he doesn’t learn very much. Julian contacts Chang and tries to ask the Garou for help in finding out what is going on. As the cabal attempts to determine a method to extracting the bane spirit without driving the host insane, Candance hands over a picture to Jacob about a vision she foresaw. That Hoover Dam is going to be destroyed today.
The cabal conduct a ritual to entrap the abductees to slow down the rate of germination of the debachers, then they attempt to come up with a plan to head over to Hoover Dam itself. They disguise themselves as Technocratic agents working for Julian Raven and head off to the Dam. Before they can even reach the Dam, they are intercepted by Agent Houston. Julian is able to convince Houston that something bad is going to happen at the Dam today, which results in the Agent sharing information that the Five Swell Guys are attempting to extract the Storm Eater in a Pandora Box. They both agree that the plan isn’t idea, but Agent Houston informs them that he doesn’t have the political clout or the power to stop the project. The only man in Las Vegas that can stop the project is George Carreau of the Cloud Room. The group decide to head to the Dam with Agent Houston to investigate.
While at the Dam they witness the heavy security established by the Technocracy to repel against lupine attacks. As they journey further inside, they also notice many technocratic agents exterminating the Storm Eater spawn. When they finally approach the room with the Five Swell Guys, Julian is able to detect the Storm Eater’s presence in Kenneth.
They regroup and begin to make their plans. They realize that if they attack Kenneth, they will bring down all of the Technocracy security down upon their heads. Julian contacts Isis and she sends a message to George Carreau. The group then heads into the room with the Five Swell Guys with Agent Houston and try to bluff their way through by stopping the experiment. Unfortunately Kenneth is able to recognize Jacob and all hell breaks loose. Po strikes down Kenneth while Julian is forced to fast talk his way into saving the cabal.
They are relocated to a detention room while the Technocracy checks up on their story. An agent of the Cloud Room arrives and bails them out. The Cloud Room agent informs Julian that they are appreciated of his effort in saving Las Vegas and offers a large sum of money to a donation of his choice. The cabal members are dropped off back in the city and left to their business.
They soon return back to their headquarters and begin to plan for a ritual on trying to extract the debahcers. After going through several possible plans, they decide on tricking the weaver-bane spirits by disguising Julian as Ralph Cannon and ordering the bane spirits out. Their deceit is able to work and they were able to free all of the abductees (with mild damage to their memories) free of the corruption.
The next order of business then comes down on what they should do with the threat of the Storm Eater. Chang inform them that the Garou will fight against one another in an attempt to destroy or prevent the Storm Eater from being released into the world. This threat could eventually boil the entire city in a supernatural war between the Technocracy and the shapechangers. Jacob and the others then decide to trick the Garou by faking the death of the Storm Eater. They contact Agent Houston and Chang, getting the two separate factions to get involved in preventing future bloodshed.
The next day the cabal performs a elaborate illusion of a epic battle between Chang’s packmates, the Technocracy, and their cabal as they went up against an false Storm Eater. Faking the death of the Storm Eater, the Technocracy are free to raise the gauntlet around the original Storm Eater’s prison and keep it locked away for some time.
The group then heads off to the Burning Man to celebrate.
