It is sometime after the events of the Burning Man, and the cabal are adjusting to their lives again. It is during this time that Jacob Torgue would receive the most unlikely of clients.
Meliae Wyngarde broke Isis.
GM Notes: In Pin and Needles, the game picks up sometime four months after the events of the Burning Man. The storyteller for this session is Julain Raven’s player, and the characters taking part in the case are Jacob Torgue and Po Kai. They are assisted by young Sidi, one of the orphans they rescued and help trained.
The story begins with Meliae Wyngarde asking for Jacob, Sidi, and Po’s help in fixing Isis. Meliae is afraid of informing Julian of what occurred and implores the others to help maintain her secret and figure out a solution on fixing the hologram entity.
They enter the Digital Web and suddenly find themselves in ancient Egypt. They aren’t sure if they are in the past or in a digital recreation of Isis’s memories of the past. The cabal learns about the infiltration of a E-Demon, a type of spectre that haunts the digital landscape, has somehow infected Isis’s memory banks. The group then begins to investigate the various clues on trying to find the E-Demon while learning more about Isis’s origins, skipping from one memory to the next. The session ends with the group finding themselves in World War II where they encounter Julian’s father, Jules, and Hedrick.
The session picks up with Wesley Smith in New York City. For the last four months Wesley Smith has driven himself into the war front against the vampires in the Order of Hermes war. He returns to Las Vegas due to a omen reminding him of his oath to watch over the Orphans. His investigations draws him into the Digital Web where he meets up with the cabal in World War II. With his knowledge, they are able to determine that they are either in Meliae’s seeking or quiet. The cabal fend off some vampires and nazi soldiers while they learn more about Isis’s past. They also discover a Technocratic and Tradition secret known as the Black Papers. They eventually learn that the E-Demon is none other then Amanda Jernigan’s spirit. The cabal are forced to come up with a clever plan to defeat the E-Demon and save Meliae’s sanity.
